Quite Possibly the Worst Company to Work For in Burlington

I almost don't know where to begin. They hire temps through many temp agencies and our them through the most boring and unintelligible "training" program ever devised- basically, you learn what you need to do your job when you finally get on the phones and not before. Management is unprofessional, rude, cliquey, and inexperienced. Rather than give you detailed job expectations they throw you blind into situations and then bully/ verbally abuse you for not learning, somehow (osmosis?), how it was supposed to be done ahead of time. If you do not have a fake, suck up attitude, do not expect to go far with this company. The worst part by far, though, are the unrealistic expectations that these poor temps are given right out of the gate about any chance of long-term permanency. You have to be with the company for 4 months (16 weeks), NOT COUNTING 3 weeks of training, then, if you're not fired for some reason or another by that time, you are welcome to "apply" for a permanent position IF one is open. And another thing... the company doesn't have any kind of accountability with the state of Vermont pertaining to the thousands of mishandled applications, payments, and accounts the untrained, ignorant Maximus employees deal with. Complaints are not addressed, issues are shuffled under the rug, and everything is completely and totally mishandled. Shame on you, Maximus! I took the job because in this economy, I didn't have much choice. I've been in call centers for more than a decade and this was the single WORST company I've ever worked for, bottom line.
