On Sunday February 1, 2015 I called for service on my furnace which wouldn't operate. A technician called me within 15 minutes of my call, He stated that he would be here within an hour to an hour & a half, He was here in the time frame he gave me. Not only did he fix my furnace promptly but he was very courteous & knowledgeable. Your repairman's name was Braedon Hegburg & I would like for you to acknowledge this email. I believe praise should be given it is truly earned.

I was informed by my gas company that I had an underground gas leak and I needed to get it fixed within ten days or be shut off. I performed a typical Google search and narrowed my selection to two well-known local plumbing experts. Company K and Cunningham Shanor. Company K had good reviews but I was put off by their phone support. Cunningham Shanor was qualified but their online reviews were tainted by one very vocal dissatisfied customer. Despite this negative review, I decided I would at least entertain an estimate from Cunningham Shanor for the work. Before contacting Cunningham Shanor, I contacted company K. This very popular plumbing contractor provided an estimate that wound up being nearly three times higher than Cunningham Shanor. Company Kâs phone support team was uninformed and their estimator was rude and arrogant.I then contacted Cunningham Shanor. I was satisfied enough with their phone support to warrant an on-site estimate. Since it was an underground gas line installation, the installer had to be certified by an independent contractor. The phone support specialist indicated that they were certified. The Cunningham Shanor estimator was courteous, on time and thorough in explaining all that was involved with an underground gas line installation. The installer had the same qualities as the estimator; courteous, informative and pleasant to work with. They handled everything including working closely with the gas company to ensure minimum down time of our gas service. Going into this project, I had some hesitation based on one unhappy customer. In the end, I am glad I chose Cunningham Shanor for the project.Another indication of Cunningham Shanorâs positive reputation is their Better Business Bureau rating which is A+. That alone should provide you plenty of comfort in selecting them for your next plumbing project and should carry more weight than that of a disgruntled vocal customer or even my ramblings posted here.

Cunningham Shanor did in fact do the work as shown, it was determined the parts were obsolete and unavailable from the manufacturer and after review it was felt that the equipment was old enough to warrant offering the customer a replacement price. The customer had other issues with the equipment besides the leaking pan and it was our opinion that putting any further investment into the older equipment was not a wise decision. The price quoted for $6000 was actually both a new furnace and air conditioning system which was presented in multiple options for the customer to choose from and if he chose both units would bring his entire system up to date, he was not required to choose all options. It is possible another company was able to locate an after market part that repaired the AC but investing another $459.00 into this unit would have still been questionable based on the age. We agreed to the requested reduction on the billing as we had not been paid as of December (the work was done in July) and we hoped by agreeing to the reduction, not only would we recoup some of our costs as our technicians do not work on commission and are paid regardless of whether they sell parts or equipment.

Called Cunningham Shanor for service this past summer. They were prompt and came the same day. Had an AC problem where water was leaking from AC unit. Tech arrived and spent around 1/2 hour to trouble shoot unit. He stated that it needed replaced and would have some one call me. Price came in extremely high and unit was still leaking. I explained to office folks that the tech took the unit apart and never put it back together with several screws not reinstalled and AC air leaking around areas the screws were supposed to be. I called back and advised office manager of situation tech came back and reinstalled screws. I asked tech several questions on second visit which he could not answer, mainly what was wrong with AC unit. Received Bill for $600.00 +. Called another AC company who came in replaced leaking water catch pan and problem solved ($459.00). I called Cunningham Shanor explained situation Office manager reduced price to $367.00 for tech coming to home and trouble shooting. They say no gimmicks, hmm. At the end they came in a timely fashion but it was my impression they did not want to repair my AC unit but sell me a new AC unit for over $6000.00. Unit repaired by other AC company has been working fine. Note. Other AC company gave me estimate to replace over $1500.00 less than Cunningham Shanor.

We called Cunningham Shanor recently, my husband has breathing problems and our AC was down. They made us a priority and actually made arrangements to go and get our part. We had the AC running and our home cool within hours. We had not used them before, but will always recommend them in the future. Their technicians were professional and the office staff could not be more helpful.

Cunningham Shanor requested that the customer call the police immediately, the customer refused to do so. We requested that the employee be charged, however we as the employer could not do so because the customer would not press charges and they were the victim. The employee was terminated. The customer received a refund of all monies paid and the property was recovered and returned to the customer. There exists records of letters and phone calls made to the customer in an attempt to resolve the issue. The customer filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. All actions by both parties were reviewed under the scrutiny of the Better Business Bureau and they have now closed the case and consider the matter resolved. Cunningham Shanor does in fact do complete background checks and drug testing on their employees however when a customer refuses to press charges against an individual as in this case, there is no criminal record to be found.

Cunningham Shanor Inc sent over an employee that ROBBED me. I had to call the police because the owners ignored me, and luckily the cops were able to retrieve my stolen items when the employee admitted to the theft. Meanwhile, my bill was grossly inflated at $278, including being charged by the hour (during which time I was being robbed) and $68 for a part that I later purchased at Lowes for $6.27, and the employee NEVER unclogged my sink! A reputable plumber later unclogged my drain for $140. Despite repeated calls to Cunningham Shanor Inc to speak with the owners about the bill and theft, Iâve been ceaselessly ignored. Fortunately I stopped payment on the check because they tried to cash it even after the cop stopped by their business. My responsibility now is to warn other consumers about their fraudulent pricing, failure to conduct adequate background checks on employees, their obvious lack of concern for their customers, and their overall unprofessional and incompetent conduct.

Provided by YP.comI called Cunningham Shanor Inc. (Butler, PA) for a plumber to unclog a drain. Not only was the man they sent exceedingly inexperienced, but he also ROBBED me. When I called to report the theft, the owner had the secretary dismiss me and tell me to call the police, which I did. Thanks to the vigilance of the Butler Township Police, my stolen possessions were returned when the employee admitted to the theft, though they were damaged from being buried in the mud.
Meanwhile, my bill was $278 for a drain that the employee never unclogged, claiming that the floorboards needed ripped up. This bill reflects being charged by the hour (during which time the employee was stealing from me), $68 for a part that I later purchased at Lowes for $6.27, and an additional $50 for the use of the snake, which I have never been charged for before. All this, and there was still a bucket under my sink. Two weeks later, a reputable plumber came and unclogged my drain in less than 40 minutes for a total of $140.
Despite repeated calls to Cunningham Shanor Inc. to speak to the owners about the grossly inflated bill and theft, I was ceaselessly ignored and never received a return call. Fortunately, I stopped payment on the check, because they tried to cash the check even after a police officer questioned their employee at their business.
Only after I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau to warn consumers did I receive a call from one of the office staff members, who assured me that the matter would be resolved expediently. Again, they’ve not called back, even though I’ve made additional attempts to contact them. To date, nothing has been resolved, I’m still waiting for a call back, and neither of the owners has ever called me.
At this point, I do not expect to hear back from them since nearly a month has passed since the incident and I’ve made multiple attempts to contact them. My responsibility now is to warn other consumers about their fraudulent pricing, failure to conduct adequate background checks on employees, their obvious lack of concern for their customers, and their overall unprofessional and incompetent conduct.
