To the person below... You get what you pay for. I am willing to bet you got 3-5 bids and went with the cheapest one. Let this be a lesson. Value is not always determined by price.

We chose Kashas to do our remodel. That was a mistake. We wanted a company that did a quality job. What we got was a company who's quality is dictated by their subcontractors because they do not manage their subcontractors. The foreman, or project manager as they call him, is rarely on site. Subs show up with no idea of what they are doing. Mistakes get made, work has to be redo, and in most cases it does not get done properly. We spent time and money with their designer to design the remodel the way we wanted. That was a complete waste. The plans were not followed by the crew including the project manager. We are now having to bring in other companies to fix the problems. We don't want Kashas back in the house.

Bottom line is we would choose another company next time.

Kashas builds like a cheap track home builder and bills like a premier custom home builder. Kashas uses low quality subcontractors and is rarely on the job site to manage them. Managing is done by phone for the most part. The result is there are many mistakes and the quality of the work is dictated by the subs. This wouldn't be so bad if they used quality subs. We spent a lot of time and money working up a design only to have it basically ignored when the construction phase of the project started. Things were done wrong. These can be corrected of course if they are caught in time, but some things are just not going to be the same than if they were done right in the first place. For instance, when the foundation is poured with improper openings. You can fix this, but it is basically a patched foundation. This happened not only because the subs did not follow the plans, but also the Kashas foreman was not on site when the work was done. Another problem was that the Kashas foreman himself rarely followed the plans. There were short cuts taken by Kashas. Short cuts that effected the quality of the job. And no one was around the keep the subs from treating the place like a dump. For instance, driving on the lawn, leaving their lunch trash (and construction trash) to be blown all over the place by the wind, pour dry wall and concrete waste in the planters, etc. With Kashas, you pay for quality and get crap. Never again!
