Located in Cambridge, Ohio, the Guernsey County Sheriff s Office is a full-service law enforcement agency that is comprised of administrative, civil, criminal investigations and patrol divisions. It also operates a 66-bed adult detention center that that houses pretrial, presentenced, and county- and state-sentenced prisoners. The Guernsey County Sheriff s Office maintains a communications center that dispatches calls for law enforcement, fire and emergency medical services. The office employs a staff of more than 40 full- and part-time sworn officers, community volunteers and civilians. Established in 1810, the Guernsey County Sheriff s Office has a Special Response Team (SRT) that deals with high-risk and dangerous situations, including high-risk warrant arrests and explosive devices, as well as heavily armed criminals and barricaded persons.
