I had talked to Evelyn at the hair salon and had reserved her for my wedding day to do my hair and make-up. We had a hair trial that turned out OK. I'm not picky, so it was fine (but nothing comparable to what another hair stylist did for my wedding day). She did take 3 hours to finally get my hair right though. But like I said, it was fine and I reserved her for the wedding day. We had discussed she would be coming to the hotel and when I asked her for prices she gave me a general range from $35-$55. I also told her my bridesmaids would like to get their hair done. The week of the wedding Evelyn texted me unsure of the plans for the wedding day. In addition she still couldn't give me a set price and once she finally did, it was too expensive for my bridesmaids. Once I told her she would only be doing my hair and make-up, she became very unprofessional and told me this is unacceptable because she would be losing money. She blamed me for not asking her what the total price would be because it wasn't her responsibility to tell me, it was my responsibility to ask. The best part was, she still couldn't give me a price the week of the wedding until she talked to somebody. She argued with me for a couple hours and showed absolutely no skills for customer service and continued to blame everything on me. In the end I decided not to go with her because she had been unorganized and not helpful in any way since I had began talking to her about my wedding day. I had to tell her the plans multiple times because she was unorganized and could not remember anything. It was very frustrating that a vendor caused such an unpleasant experience the week of my wedding and added unnecessary stress to the process.

I called to make an appt. for color and a trim. I was very direct in asking that I be given a senior colorist, as I have been driving to Columbia for years, and had numerous poor experiences with Camden stylists.



I was given an appointment with Jesse. When I arrived, I was taken aback to see that she was a non-white stylist. Could she manage fine, thin, blonde hair?



I cannot express how pleased I was with Jesse. I can honestly say she is superior to the stylists I have had in Columbia and Charlotte over the past 10 years. My color is simply lovely. It has a great amount of detail with the tones of my naturally aging dark blonde and the highlights of a lighter nature. Jesse spent 2 hours in foiling, and she proved to be quite talented. I did bring along the color charts from my previous stylist as a guide, and she tweaked the color to look more natural. I was also pleased with the price: $75.00 for trim and color.



My rationale in giving 4 stars, rather than 5, is that I specifically asked for an experienced colorist, and I was assigned a new employee (less than one month's ecperience in this salon). I really would appreciate more openness and honety. That is truly disappointing.



Thankfully, this stylist was quite talented, and I will return. Jesse has great potential in this area.
