Camdem First Assembly of God church family will always be important to me because my grand parents were members there. My grandmother is Edith Rowland, wife of Cecil Rowland who played a major role in building the church itself. He made the doorways wider for future funeral services. He was a beaconShortly after he began to build this church he was diagnosed with Cancer. He died right after he finshed building it. His may have been the first funeral held at that church. He had a way with gospel...He worked in a shoe factory. He used to ask us "What kind of shoes do you have on? Are they Gospel shoes?

Another favorite verse was " Not by Power, Not by Might but by my Spirit sayeth the Lord!"



Edith Rowland was born and raised in Camden. She is near 94 now living with her grand daughter in Amboy, Ill. where she attends the Church of God there. She would cook many wonderful meals for church events, She is not doing well now and I would like to request prayers on her behalf. And also., her grand son who passed away recently. Deborah Rowland is my mother and is very sick with liver disease. Please send us your prayers.
