A month in advance I sent a picture of the cake and that we wanted and the color of what the bow and the dots on the cake would look like. I asked the manager Pamela over email if she could make this cake as it. She stated yes. We went back and forth over email re: count and pricing. I paid for the cake over the phone. Cost $190.00 dollars. When I went to pick up the cake last Friday after work the cake was not the three tier as in the picture. It was 2 tier, lopsided and BLUE. The staff came out and I did not want to cause a scene. They were holding a picture of the cake and the color swatch of PURPLE (which was the right color). I said, this is not the cake that I ordered nor the cake I paid for. This cake is BLUE for a boy, I have grand duaghter. I immediately sent a picture to my daughter who lives 2 hrs away. She was FUMING to say the least. She said I do not want that cake, don't bring it home. The owner (female) promised me she would fix the cake and deliver to my home that evening which is 1 hr from York. The cake showed up. 2 tier not 3. smaller then the first cake. The color purple was on point, but the paw prints were gold and not brown. At that point I had take the cake because the party was Saturday. Needless to say I was totally disappointed with Pennsylvania Bakery and the cake to me was worth $0. They actually did not seem to feel sorry for me. All they could say is I don't know what happened??? Seriously. You guys are lousy. You ruined a special event for me and my daughter. Thanks a million. I found another bakery now and it is by far the BEST bakery in York that I have dealt with.
Oh, and your lost our business account. You make our birthday cakes each month. Not after this Friday. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you for not owning your mistake!!!

Provided by YP.comwrong cake was sent, no refund because it was "eaten" well what else do you do, tell everyone to just not eat! and then when called about it horrible customer service taking no fault to themselves, and no reimbursement of any kind, it doesn't matter how good things taste if your wrong it should be fixed, i will never order a cake or recommend them to anyone!

Provided by YP.comI spent over $45 for a custom cake. The PA Bakery made it the wrong flavor, which I of course did not know until we cut it at my daughter's first birthday! My baby didn't like the flavor, and neither did most of my family. I called 4 times before I could catch the manager Ken in the office (left messages with employees, but no one called back). Ken wouldn't talk to me about it. He made another employee, Nikki, talk to me. She asked me rudely what they could do to make me go away. I then asked for a gift certificate for half the purchase price of another cake. She talked to Ken then got back on the phone and told me they would not do anything for me since we ate the cake. I had 30 guests watching my daughter blow out the candles - what was I supposed to do? Tell them sorry, no cake?? I have a third of the cake left, which I offered to return. If the flavor had been correct, there would have been NO leftovers.

Provided by YP.comAfter getting enaged, my mother, fiancee and I went to the PA Bakery to see about getting a wedding cake. We had never been there before, but because we had heard so many good things about it, we called and set up an appointment for 5:00 pm.
When we got there, we explained we were here for our appointment and we were given two small cakes and were told someone would be right with us and to have a seat. Curious as to why we only got to try two flavors, we waited and waited. It was not at all busy and no one even made eye contact with us the entire time. We sat for over half an hour until my fiancee, furious but very politely asked the person at the counter if we would get a person with our cakes. Guess what he was told? "Oh, the consultant leaves at 5:00." I couldn't believe it. Why would they even allow us to schedule an appointment if they knew the consultant leaves at 5 everyday? We didn't get an apology or anything. Instead, some other guy came over to us and asked what our order would be and took out a pen and paper. We had to explain to him that we never even got to look at pictures, prices or anything. He came back with a book that was faded and had mold growing on it (lovely) and promptly disappeared again. Trying to make the best of a bad situation, we paged through it anyway before leaving.
It was by far the worst experience we have had yet in getting a wedding cake and we have no intention of returning for anything else.
