Horrible Experience

My family and I just moved out of one of Phil's "newer" properties. I have to say the experience over the last several months has been miserable. Phil would never return calls or email concerning issues unless it was to his benefit. When sent emails with documents he would deny recieving them even with no bounce back to email. His method for calculating fees, pro-rating rents, and repairs were all outrageous.



He repeatedly would inspect the house and find non existant problems, like scuff marks that he would then charge to repaint; cleaning fees charged to our deposit after we had cleaned the carpets; and bringing in his own repairman and not allowing us to repair any issues that were needed...which were bare minimum.



He has threatened multiple times that his contract is absolute and that he knows the law, then threatens to take all of our deposit if we don't comply. We finally got fed up and spoke with an attorney. After this meeting and further research, we found that most of what he is trying to keep our deposit for is illegal.



If we do not recieve a refund of our deposit, we will most likely take him to court. Do not rent from this man.
