Upper Arkansas Area Council of Governments, also known as UAACOG, is a nonprofit organization that unites local governments to serve communities on regional basis through mutually beneficial activities. It provides technical assistance to counties, cities and special districts to meet the growing demands of growth and energy. Upper Arkansas Area Council of Governments also offers assistance in grant preparation, administration, and project and community development. It provides review and feedback services for state and federal grant applications. The organization also offers grantsmanship training for local government employees and nonprofit agencies, as well as manages a resource library that provides information on grant programs, funding sources for use by local governments, and social and economic data. Additionally, it provides a range of social, educational and health care programs for individuals and families. Upper Arkansas Area Council of Governments maintains one of its facilities in Canon City, Colo.
