Very horrid experience from the moment my mom was admitted, which was after hours, strike 1. We sat in her room for 2 1/2 hours before someone showed up and that was just to deliver her dinner tray. The nurse that was assigned to mom, never came into the room to greet her, never came in to go over procedures or medications, strike 2. I was told that since mom was prone to UTI infections, that she would be changed every 2 hours. By the time my sister came in at 10:30 the following morning, my mom was sitting in her own waste from 6:30 am to 10:30 am when my sister had to flag down the administration. Strike 3. Mom is being transport asap. DO NOT TAKE YOUR LOVE ONES to this hell hole. Wish there was a star that says run the hell away The bed reeks of urine its disgusting.

I would not recommend this facility.... this place need to be shut down.. my mom got really worst here instead of getting better she was dying.. she develop bedsore sore, blister became a infected wound. She fell because no one was around to help her to go to the bathroom... I was told from the doc. There that I should just do hospice for her at home... after the doc. Said that I took her out of there and brought her to the hospital less than 2 weeks she was up and walking... yeah before putting your love ones here do your research this place is a dump

My mother was a fall risk, having broke her hip, in addition to having dementia. They brought her out to the nurses station to "watch", where she got up from her wheelchair and broke her arm. I was informed there was no one on one, but AFTER my mother was injured, they had one on one. Also, this facility will put your loved one on pureed food for no reason. My mother lost a dangerous amount of weight there. The food is atrocious. Now that shes's in a group home, the nurse found NO sign of blockage, and is eating solid food. DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT send your loved ones there. Don't be taken in by the clean, new look.

I would not recommend this facility. Please do not be duped, like I feel I was. My mother had spine surgery and needed short term rehab, and I toured 3 local facilities. Kayla gave the tour, and was very personable, appeared to be caring and compassionate, the facility was quite clean, and the gym looked sufficient. The facility became our first choice, and I took my mother there upon her discharge from the hospital. All of my positive feelings, however, turned the complete opposite upon our arrival at the facility. The staff was not welcoming. They couldn't find a wheelchair to bring my mother in to the building, and when they finally did, it did not have foot rests, and she was too weak to hold her feet up off the ground so her feet dragged on the concrete and floor for part of the transport. We arrived at 5:30 pm and no one was on staff at the time to welcome us, give an introduction to the facility, or do an initial evaluation. We were told none of those things would be able to happen until the next day. My mother had been using a walker successfully at the hospital, but Regency refused to give her a walker while she was on pain meds and told her she had to stay in bed unless she was accompanied by a staff member or visitor. They were late giving her pain meds, and although they had 4 1/2 hours notice from the hospital that she would be arriving, they still did not have her meds on site and able to administer. The final straw was that they did not have her blood-thinner, and therefore she would have to miss her evening dose. The staff was not friendly, not welcoming or caring, and seemed quite incompetent. I was a nervous wreck at the thought of my mother staying there. After 4 1/2 hours, we had had enough, and left. I took my mother home where I am taking better care of her, and she is receiving in home OT and PT, and we are both SOOO relieved and happy we made that choice. The only positive thing I can say was that it was pretty clean. Please do not take your loved one to this place. My name is Kim and if you have any questions or desire further information, please feel free to call 734-502-4396.

Heard the saying "Nice house but nobody home", this is it. Nurses and aids were good but administration and physician and physician assist. are irresponsible. They change medication for patients without telling the family, also overdose patients and blame everybody else. Lose a hearing aid (you know who we are) and blame the patient that is having a severe seizure. If they tell you they are going to investigate forget it. It is just an act to justify their lack of ability to admit mistakes.

Regency Canton is clean, the nurses are great, and so were the aids on both shifts. I have been there four times and the therapy continues to never disappoint. They offer plenty of things to do that will keep you busy for hours (the entertainment is great!) There were no odors- It is truly a beautiful center. The food was ok- luckily you have some options. Overall my experience has been 98% satisfactory. I have no doubt I would return there if I had to

I want to say thank you to the nurse and cnas on ridge for making my mom last days comfortable. The cnas and nurse on ridge went above and beyond making sure my mother was taking care of. Whenever i came to see mom she was always clean. my mom started off on one unit and was moved to another not only did they move my mom but they moved her cna with her with which i feel was vert considered. I have nothing but good things to say about the unit manager nurse and cna on ridge at regency at canton. If you want to admit your family member for long term try to admit them on ridge because the group that works over on that wing and exceptional workers

This is the worst facility I have EVER been to. The only good thing I have to say is that it is clean and doesn't smell bad. My mom is here for rehab following a knee replacement. She spent five days here before they bothered to start any rehab. Need help? don't hit your call light because no one will come for hours if at all. They allowed my mother who is at an increased fall risk due to surgery to walk to the bathroom alone. Once there she couldn't get up and pulled the emergency cord. NO ONE CAME!! she had to use a walker to bang on the door to get someone's attention to come help her, then the girl who came to help yelled at her for crying. They don't bring the pain medicine in a timey fashion so by the time they get it to you, you are in so much pain you can hardly stand it. Patients sit in urine soaked beds for hours. No body makes rounds on the rooms checking on patients. Today they gave my mom her diabetes medication, then forgot to bring her breakfast. The CNAs complain to the patient about their own issues and say they don't want to take help the patients due to said issues. One day my mom got herself out of the bathroom, and no one would come help her into bed, so her room mates mother had to help her. Then today after her first trip out of there she was in a lot of pain, and called for help and no one would come bring her any pain meds. She had to call me to call them and tell them to go help her. When I called the nurse and told her to get her crap together and take better care of my mom, she hung up on me. I am so very disappointed in this place. I wish I could bring her home to care for her, but she hasn't learned to do stairs yet. I plan on calling the BBB and the Michigan department of human services to report the horrible care. PLEASE if someone you care about needs to go to a facility, do not take them here. You will spend all your time worrying about if your loved one is one the floor somewhere. If I could have given no stars or negative stars I would have. They don't deserve even one.
