I should have been more trusting of the reviews you will find on AparatmentRatings.com for this property. This place is just as shady as you will see! I moved into this apartment in May 2014, and at move-in they told me that I did not owe any more money. At the end of July 2014, I received a notice in the form of a note slid under my door saying that I owed a small balance of $60 to the property with no explanation. This note included a clipart of a smiley face throwing money into the air, which is incredibly unprofessional. When I asked the property manager what the cost was for, she told me that it was for additional charges tacked on to my background check, $15 for every state that I lived in outside of Michigan. She then listed off the states they did a background check with: Maryand, Washington, Florida, and Virginia. I never lived in Washington, so I asked them to adjust their fee to the $45 I actually owed. This property manager was Vanessa Wild, which you will see several negative reviews for and her pompous responses. She said she would speak to corporate and get back to me. I followed-up with her again, and she said she hadn’t heard back from corporate, Oak Grove Realty Services at www.oakgrovers.com. Fast forward to December 2014, I received another notice like the one above saying that I owed $430. They tacked on several months of late fees to the original $60 charge that they charged me incorrectly. Today, Vanessa Wild is gone and replaced by Risharri Faison as the new property. Same old crap different property manager. I told her about the conversation with Vanessa Wild over e-mail and said I would have to call the corporate office and leave a detailed voicemail. I called the corporate office number, which is bogus because they screen all calls and never call you back. I found out later that their protocol is to only communicate directly with the property manager, so why am I being told that I can make my case directly to corporate. This place is so evil that I am willing to pay my lease buy out fee to get the hell out of here. Beware of their shady business practices, because even Risharri Faison told me during my move-in that this place will try to stick it to you for any/all potential move-out costs including normal wear and tear items. I have opened a case with the Michigan Attorney General’s office. I have warned you, because they will not change, no matter how many leasing office staff they burn through.

Provided by YP.comWORST APARTMENTS IN CANTON!!! STAY AWAY IF YOU LIKE LIVE WITHOUT PROBLEMS AND RUDE TREATMENT FROM APARTMENT MANAGEMENT (ESPECIALLY ARROGANT AND RUDE VANESSA)!!!!! These apartments suck the most. I can list all the possible issues with these apartments after living for almost 2 years. We are so happy to move out. REASONS NOT TO MOVE HERE: 1)Management is very nice before you sign the lease, once you sign in, they treat you very rudely. Especially Vanessa(Property Manager). 2) They charge for water - which is a big SCAM!!. If you happen to sign a lease, ask them how they calculate the water bill?..Vanessa will never show you the bill. Basically you are paying for your neighbor and for all the water used up for landscaping, pool, etc. They just divide the total water bill by number of tenants. If your neighbor forgets to turn off the faucet and go on for vacation, you foot his/her bill. 3) Vanessa claims that property does not have a dumpster because it ruins the beauty of the property - however, if you drive by the property on wed or thur, entire property looks like a big dumpster with trash cans and stinks. Another way to make money from you. 4) Maintenance is a hell..they don't care about you. Even to change a bulb, 2 guys come over. They don't work on Saturdays. Maintenance has to be done on weekdays only, when you are out. 5) Maintenance people just enter without your permission - Vanessa will be rude to you if you question. Horrible..I Wish they have someone else managing the property. So if you have valuable stuff...watch out. I lost many things mysteriously. 6) Rules are different for different people. Vanessa makes new rules on the fly. 7) Apartments are congested, small and basically has no storage space. Kitchen has absolutely no space. 8) Heating & cooling is horrible as well. For a relatively new property, heating and cooling bills are heavy...watch out!!. All the materials in the apt are cheap including fridge and dishwasher. Oven handle keeps popping out all the time... 9) If you turn on bake or broil in the cooking oven, the entire unit heats up like crazy and you really cannot touch the exterior. 10) Do not fall for outside landscaping, it is just an illusion. Management office never works like they mention - they are always out on showing, and Vanessa is out most of the times...:) 11) You cannot keep trash out the previous day of the collection - $75 fine. Another way to suck $$ from you. Mgmt is more worried about Racoons. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE APARTMENT. Save some money and live happy somewhere else.
