First E.C. Church The First Evangelical Congregational Church is a community focused, family oriented church located in northern Canton, Ohio. Our focus is on living lives that show the unconditional love of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, by following the instruction of Jesus when he taught us that the Greatest Commandment is to love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength and to love your neighbor as your self. We seek to fulfill this command in our everyday lives. We are a congregation that is seeking to worship the Lord in new and exciting ways while still maintaining some of the traditions that have become so much a part of Christian worship. Being centered on the teachings of the Bible, we seek to grow closer to God through the study of His Word, learning from what the Scriptures say, not twisting them to say what we want them to. After all, when the truth hurts, that means we are learning and growing. Philippians 4: 6-7: "Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God's peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus" (NLT).
