A Gastroenterologist is a Specialist Fully Trained in Internal Medicine, Who Has Had Additional, Special, and Extensive Training in the Field of Gastroenterology. Gastroenterology Covers Disorders of the Entire Gastrointestinal Tract. This Includes the Esophagus, Stomach, Duodenum, Small Bowel, and Colon, As Well As Diseases of the Liver, Gallbladder, and Pancreas. A Gastroenterologist Has Had An Average of Twelve to Fifteen Years Education and Training Beyond High School with the Last Two to Three Years. Office Appointments Regular Office Hours are 8:00 - 4:00 P.m. Monday Through Friday. Appointments are Scheduled in Advance by Calling the Appointment Desk. However, if you Need to Be Seen on An Emergency Basis, Every Effort Will Be Made to Take Care of you As Soon As Possible. Should It Be Necessary to Miss An Appointment, Please Notify us One Day in Advance of Your Scheduled Appointment Time. If you Have Had X-Rays of Your Stomach, Colon or Gallbladder Done in the Past Six Month, you Will Be Advised to Have Your Results Sent to us or Have Your Referring Physician Fax Them to Us. You Will Be Asked to Sign a Release Form and Will Be Given the Results to Personally Bring with you for Your Appointment. Likewise, of Any Recent Blood Work Done in or Our of the Hospital, Obtained in the Same Manner As X-rays, are Helped to the Doctor and Often Saves Time and Money. Telephone Calls And Prescriptions When you Call the Office with Questions or for Prescription Request, the Doctor or a Staff Member Will Return Your Call As Soon As Possible. When the Office is Closed, Calls Should Be Strictly Limited to Emergencies Which Cannot Wait Until the Office Reopens. In this Case, the Answering Service Will Reach the Doctor on Call. The Emergency Should Relate t o the Gastrointestinal Problem for Which you Have Been Seen. If the Doctor on Call is Not Familiar with Your Problem, Tell Him Who Referred you to Us, Which Doctor is Treating You, for What Problem, and with What Medications. Please Call with Prescription Refill Requests Several Days Prior to Having Used All the Medication. Routine Prescription Refills Will Be Processed Only During Office Hours. Please Do Not Have the Pharmacist Call us for Your Refills.
