BLaST Intermediate Unit 17 offers classes from grades kindergarten through 12, and is located in Canton, Pa. Its curriculum includes agriscience, art, business, career and technical education, family and consumer sciences, language arts, mathematics, science, social studies, world languages, health and physical education. It serves various states, including California, Florida, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Maryland, Texas, Washington and Nebraska. It provides a variety of professional development services and technical assistance to school districts in partnership with the Pennsylvania Training and Technical Assistance Network and the Pennsylvania Department of Education and Bureau of Special Education. Its alternative education support students and provides assistance with their behavioral issues. It encourages students to gain the necessary skills to successfully return to their school programs.
