Never had a bad experience

my pets have been patients with Dr. Alexander for 8 years. Dr. Alexander has always been kind and very competent. She loves animals and has many of her own. Her Vet Techs are all very kind to my animals and knowledgeable too, especially "Alexis". " Jessica is the office manager and I think she's a Tech too and has always been friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. There is however a front desk receptionist that could benefit from a course in patient relations but she is not the office manager and I couldn't see Jessica (manager) acting the way the other reviewers implied.

professional accountability

I had my boxer to this "clinic" for 6 months. As mentioned from the last review I met with the "practice mgr", she should be working in a prison, great personaity. Brought my dog in for allergies and mentioned a lump on her neck, $1400.00 later I took my dog to another vet. The new vet immediately noticed the small lump, took a sample, put it under a microscope and it turned out to be stage 2 cancer. My new vet operated and was successful. Went back to Santa Barbara clinic and insisted they pay for the operation of $800.00 since their diaginosis was to "watch" the lump". If I wouldn't have taken my dog to a new vet she probably wouldn't have been here now. Santa Barbara refuses to accept any responsibility for this missdiagnosis. Reported this to the BBB and Florida state licensing board, this vet didn't have the decency to respond to my complaint. I'm taking this matter to my attorney for his opinion and my next step to resolve this matter. Beware of this facility or you may be writing a similar complaint!

FANTASTIC Vet! Dr. Alexander is so caring! She was able to do my dogs vasectomy opposed to a basic neuter! Staff is also wonderful! Would never take my dogs anywhere else!

Avoid this place

I was an established client of this practice. I took my newly adoptedcat, made an appointment for 2 p.m. and arrived ten minutes early. Met with with the "practice manager". Not very friendly reception to start off with. She took me and my cat in the exam room and she and an assistant began trying to take my cat' rectal temp. I did not like their handling of my cat, he was not enjoying this and they pulled and held him. I told them stop. We'll we do this all the time." Her tone was argumentative and bitchy". I requested to see the vet. "They aren't here at lunch." she replied. I told them to stop treatment and asked to see their license to practice. The manager said " I don't have to show you and if you don't leave I am calling police. leave now:' . Customer service was pathetic and this individual just cost Dr. Alexander 2 feline patients and a complaint with the state for Licensure non compliance. I have never been so disrespected by a professional.
