Robert R. Gray Elementary School is a learning center that is named after Robert Ridgley Gray, who was a former principal of the Fairmont Heights Elementary School. It teaches more than 550 students in prekindergarten through grade six. The school is a part of Prince George's County Public Schools, which is one of the largest school systems in Maryland with a combined enrollment of over 131,000 students in nearly 195 educational institutions. In addition to regular courses, Robert R. Gray Elementary School operates physical education and music departments. It also maintains a safety patrol team, instrumental band, chorus, recycling crew and peer mediation group. Robert R. Gray Elementary School, built in 2001, is located in Capitol Heights, Md.
