Carbondale Park District is located in Carbondale, Ill., and provides recreation and leisure opportunities to residents. The district offers recreational programs for all age groups. It additionally organizes league sports, aquatics programs and classes and community events, such as the Sunset Concert series. The district also offers several parks and facilities that include an 18-hole golf course. It arranges several events, instructional lessons, free programs and leisure services. The district maintains more than five parks, a community center and the Hickory Lodge. It operates after-school and full-time child care facilities for students up to sixth grade. The Carbondale Park District was founded in 1940.
