In addition, Carmel Police Department investigates traffic crashes and maintains proper traffic control and flow throughout the city of Carmel, Ind. It has a criminal investigations division that is responsible for investigating robberies, sex crimes, frauds, auto thefts and crimes against persons. The department s special investigation division is responsible for intelligence and dignitary protection.
