Christopher Salerno, MD, board certified cardiothoracic surgeon, received his bachelor's degree from Marquette University, Milwaukee, graduating Phi Beta Kappa. He earned his medical degree from Rush Medical College. Dr. Salerno completed his general surgery internship and his surgical infectious disease fellowship at the University of Minnesota School of Medicine, Minneapolis. He completed his cardiothoracic surgery and cardiopulmonary transplantation residencies at Stanford University, in California.Dr. Salerno is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and is a member of the American Medical Association; International Society of Heart and Lung Transplantation; and the Society of Thoracic Surgeons. Dr. Salerno is a Diplomate with the American Board of Thoracic Surgery, American Board of Surgery, and the National Board of Medical Examiners.Dr. Salerno specializes in cardiopulmonary transplantation, mechanical assist devices and aortic surgery.
