First off, i needed a place on a short notice as i was moving from the bay area to here. I visited a few complexes in Sacramento and realized what Hastings is not. The office has no fair housing posters, california labor wage posters of any kind and the staff had screen savers on the computer of there personal lives. Ding one! Unprofessional and tacky. Ding two! I was told they were engery efficient dwellings, maybe back in the mid 80s, with outdated single pane aluminum windows and appliances to boot. Cheap laminated vinyl flooring adorned the entry, kitchen and living room areas with a splash of multiple layer wall paint. Ding three!! I noticed yellowed smoke detectors (very old) and a wood burning fire place and an exterior closet containing a non strapped gas water heater. But the killer was the lack of carbon monoxide detector. The property is unkept (except office area) curbs are falling apart, asphalt drive is lumpy and cracking, untrimmed trees and debris on roof tops and unwatched children running all over. Bottom line is rent someplace else for the price in the valley.
