Steve and Patti Sundermann have been involved in the photography business for over thirty years. Both worked with local photographers for several years until opening their own home based studio in 1979. They continued to work out of their home until 1993 when they opened a 900 square foot studio in the local Westgate Mall. A custom frame shop was added to the photography studio and the name was changed to "Sundermann Photography, Westgate Frame." Continual growth forced the studio and frame shop to search for a larger location. In May 1997, a local trophy and awards shop relocated, making its building available. After a summer of designing, demolition and remodeling, the "Sundermann Photographic Studio and Custom Frame Gallery" opened in September of 1997 in a new 3000 square foot facility located at 526 N. Adams St. When they are not working at the studio, you'll probably find them on their bikes. Avid bicyclists, the Sundermann's enjoy a simple ride on the Sauk Rail Trail, and even participate in RAGBRAI together. They have two adult sons... And lots of photos of them growing up.
