Central Elementary School, located in Carrollton, Ga., is a part of the Carroll County School System, and provides education to students in prekindergarten to grade five. The school was established in 1959 and has an enrollment of more than 900 students. The school provides special education and a variety of programs, including early intervention, gifted education, reading recovery, keyboarding, art, music and physical education. It also offers the Spanish Today program, after school and extended day programs. Its America Reads Program is offered through the State University of West Georgia. This program appoints college students as tutors of math and reading to elementary students. The school also offers various activities and programs, such as Math Word of the Day, CES Morning News, Super Lions, the National Junior Beta Club and K-Kids club.
