This is the best place in Carthage, I have been there twice and the food was wonderful. We had the chicken and the sides,

It's definitely hit and miss whether or not you will get what you pay for. This is the third time I've ordered chicken thighs and twice including today, they were so small they look like they came from a baby chick instead of a chicken. I swear they weren't much bigger than an Oreo cookie HAHA. I won't be going back. I was really hoping a good fried chicken restaurant would stay in Carthage but I don't believe this one will be around much longer.

Kick's Fried Chicken seemed to be a very hopeful new restaurant, but unfortunately, it was quite the flash in the pan. I ordered a three-piece chicken tender meal with a biscuit, mashed potatoes and gravy and a side of corn. First and foremost, the batter for the chicken was oddly fluffy and not at all crispy as one might expect for fried chicken -- it was a batter appropriate for frying zucchini and squash, but not chicken. Secondly, the mashed potatoes were gritty and lumpy and left an after taste of raw potatoes. The biscuit was actually a cheddar biscuit, but it was oily and the spices did not complement it, and perhaps it would be more appropriate for seafood than fried chicken. The corn was soaked in grease and looked incredibly brown because of it. Overall, this was not a good experience and Kick's Fried Chicken is not a restaurant I would recommend to anyone looking for tender, succulent chicken with a crispy bite.
