My parents generously made anatomical gift donations to Syracuse Medical Center in 2010 (father) and mother in 2011. My father, prepaid Bossout-Lundy Funeral Home for the transportation to the Medical Center upon their death. When I called the Medical Center in Dec. 2014 to inquire as to when they thought the studies on my mother would be completed, they indicated to me that her cremains were returned to Lundy Funeral Home on September 20, 2012. Although the funeral home claims they called and spoke to my brother to let him know that he could pick up my mother's ashes, he denies he ever got the call. He said he thinks he would remember getting that call! When I asked them why they never followed up on another call to my brother, I was told they were very busy and it was not uncommon to have remains held for five to ten years. Shame, shame on them. This practice of not making additional calls to families, if true, shows absolutely no respect for the deceased. The funeral home got their money so what do they care. I would NEVER recommend them to anyone. If I could give them a zero rating I would.
