Worst service I have ever experienced. After having been a customer of Bresnan, then Optimum, then Charter for 8 years, I cancelled our cable service for budget reasons (watch your bill, they will raise your rates by small increments every month). I kept our internet service, and coincidentally, the day after I cancelled the cable, we can hardly use our internet because they've slowed it down so much. We're talking so slow, that I can't even send an email. NEVER USE CHARTER, you will regret it, trust me.

Why did I sign up? We've always had issues with our internet service going out, and now since we've had the TV service, I've had NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS! If there was another option that offered local channels in the area I would cancel this in a heartbeat. I have had the TV service for a month, and have probably had to call Charter at least 2-3 times a week with multiple issues. Also, they did not mention that we are required to start paying one month in advance, so our first bill included the half month used, and the full next month, plus all the hidden fees = $300 due before we had it for a full month... If I could rate this a 0, or negative, I would...

been a customer for 7 yrs always paid on time. my husband lost his job and we fell behind 1 month but still was making payments. they demanded 200 up front I asked for arrangements they denied and disconnected. now wanting over 800

I wonder if Optimum is hobbling residential bandwidth by filtering and limiting capacity with strictly online accounts as a way to disrupt WiFi Smart TV streaming Netflix/ Hulu/ Amazon Prime streaming etc. so Optimum can keep their cable TV business viable? WY folks seem to be unwilling to challenge them since they (locals) think that Optimum is the only game in town. Hmmmmm.

In Casper Wyoming be very careful with Optimum and the internet. If you are a power user, (Web enterprise based business, small enterprise driven by significant data , professional home based developer, gamer or video conferencing) that needs reliable bandwidth and capacity, absolutely seek an alternate supplier.



The growth of the region both residential and commercial has significantly burdened capacity of the Casper Optimum's infrastructure. They are not keeping up with the demands for bandwidth. They pitch it is there but during peak use and beyond it is not.



With nearly every home in Casper area having WiFi enabled TV and entertainment for the hoards the loaded and running background 24X7 on the pipe it has been proven to have outstripped the capacity time and time again.



If it is just email to the grandkids, small attachments or the random picture embedded in communication you are fine, light surfing of the Web, Skype, Google, Tango, Yahoo VOIP or chatting to peers through IM you are on average OK. However begin streaming or intense interactive and then the weaknesses of Optimum's investment here in this region becomes apparent.



Use VOIP, combined with video/audio and chat for example MS GTM or MS OS based BBB (big blue button) video conference applications for business and education or the like Optimum does not deliver. Home based business or local enterprise and they seem they could not care less once they have your account. Sorry but thats the facts..... we're getting jacked or is it cabled?!
