We were in a tight situation, needing a caregiver for my 89 year-old father, who suffers from early dementia, when his previous caregiver left us on very short notice. After contacting Donna at Americare, within 24 hours we were able to schedule daily full-time care and even an overnight weekend when we needed to be out of town for a previously scheduled commitment. Each of the three caregivers we have had during the past several months quickly put us at ease and gave us the peace of mind that we could leave for work knowing my father's needs (including bathing, shaving, meal preparation, monitoring of medicines, transportation to doctor appointment and other errands) would be met. Donna also took it upon herself to provide assistance in our dealings with the maze of the Veteran's Administration in filing the necessary paperwork in support of our claim for benefits. Without reservation, we would give Americare our unconditional recommendation.

I've worked for Americare of Castro Valley for about 5 years. It's a job I enjoy very much because I love what I do. Which makes it even better,( and I'm not just saying this because I work there) is who I work for. I feel like she takes a great consideration when matching the clients to the caregivers. It's important to Donna that it's a good fit for both.

AmeriCare, Castro Valley, was amazingly helpful and accommodating, when my elderly, wheel chair bound, parent needed assistance living at home. Not only did they offer "the basics", but the amount of affection shown and extra care provided was extraordinary.

My family could never have found a better company to help us through a difficult time.

We will forever be grateful for the dependable and professional care that Donna and the Americare staff provided to our Mother in Castro Valley. Since we are on the East Coast, it was so comforting to know that Americare was there to drive her to medical appointments, help with food shopping, household chores and companionship. Within a short time, our Mother bonded with Donna and her staff and we did too. They were very responsive and flexible and Donna kept us up-to-date by phone and email. Our Mother is in her 90's and we could count on Donna and the Americare team to give us an honest assessment of her health and general well-being. From the moment we met Donna, we felt comfortable with her and over a period of 2 1/2 years now consider her a good friend. Even after we moved our Mother back east, Donna has continued to keep in touch with our family and inquire about Dorothy's well-being.

Americare has given me piece of mind. Living far from my loved one I am secure in knowing someone is there 24 hours a day treating them like part of their family. Each caregiver is screened and best fit to meet their client needs. I receive twice weekly written reports with calls or emails when emergently necessary. Excellent family friendly care.
