Sunny Sands Elementary School is a part of the Palm Springs Unified School District and offers an environment where students, teachers and parents work collaboratively to attain mutual goals of academic excellence, personal growth and social development. It provides a variety of learning models and teaching strategies to meet the needs of all children, and the school works cooperatively with students homes and encourages parent participation in classroom activities. The school provides students a curriculum that is based upon the California state framework and is augmented by the special talents and abilities of staff members. Sunny Sands more than 1,130 students in grades kindergarten through five. Its curriculum includes various subjects, such as math, physical education and health, reading, writing and grammatical skills, art, science and social studies, music and special education.
