In 1974 Malcolm P. DeVerter opened the Malcolm DeVerter Funeral Home. In May of 1981 Malcolm's brother, Robert M. DeVerter joined with him in the business and the funeral home name changed to DeVerter Brothers Funeral Home. On January 1, 1991 Todd A. DeVerter joined his father, Robert, in the family business. (Malcolm retired in 1983). On August 1, 2007 Todd along with his wife, Laura, assumed ownership after the retirement of Robert and Carol DeVerter. The funeral home name was changed to DeVerter Funeral Home.
