Provided by YP.comI've been doing business with AAMCO in Cedar Park for about 2 1/2 years now and they have always done a really good job repairing both my cars. Every time they give me a diagnosis, it's been free. And I like the fact that they fix things right the first time and I don't have to keep coming back to get the same problem fixed again. I won't take my car anywhere else! -Tom Sullivan

Another repair shop told me in July 2009 that the transmission was going out, but the repairs could wait because it wasn't bad enough yet. I took my car in to AAMCO in November 2010 because my transmission was slipping and getting worse by the day. I spent over $500 because of course you always need something else repaired. I went in with a transmission problem and paid to have that problem fixed -- I thought as well as my A/C. My transmission would be "fine" if I had the EGR valve replaced. Oh, and that little problem with the air conditioner. So, get there and the bill was -- oh $200 dollars more -- he must have forgotten to add something in when Todd was talking to me (according to his statement). I was mad, but did not file a complaint or make a scene (which I am quite capable of doing).
So I went back today to take advantage of my free oil change before the coupon ran out determined to just get it done and get out of there. Well, Todd found a few more problems - the a/c was leaking now (since the repair in November ) and oh -- the transmission problem. It is leaking also and needs servicing. REALLY? So the repairs done in November -- ??? OH! I didn't have a transmission complaint in November -- they just replaced the EGR valve because I ALWAYS walk into a mechanic's shop and spent $500 before Christmas and I am ROLLING IN CASH!
So I told TODD, that I am filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and anyone else who will listen. In fact, I told two of his customers in the lobby.
Sandy, Your transmission was working fine in November and it is still working fine today. When you brought it to AAMCO in November your EGR valve was the issue. The EGR valve pertains to the exhaust gas recirculating system a separate component to the transmission. We were surprised that another automotive shop told you that your transmission was going out. Glad we found otherwise. On every visit we do a complete multi-point inspection to inform our customer's of needed repairs or maintenance. We would be doing a miss service if we didn't inform our customer's of these issues. It is always the customer's decision whether or not you want AAMCO to perform the repairs. Most customer's want this information.
