Provided by YP.comI had to get parts of my face cut out following an injection from Cosmetic Solutions. I am now going on my fifth year of reconstructive facial surgery following a complication caused by poor injection technique. Johanna Abernathy has treated me so cruelly and has refused to do any sort of patient follow up since February of 2011. I have spent thousands of dollars on the best facial reconstruction available, yet nothing has resolved my facial disfigurement. I would think twice before trusting my face to an OB-GYN. You need to go to a board certified Plastic Surgeon or Dermatologist.

Provided by YP.comHorrible! They gave me the dreaded "Cedar Rapids face". What is that, you ask? It's the obvious fake injection look you see around here. I recently moved to Cedar Rapids from a much larger city and am appalled by the people allowed to administer injections here. I did not realize I was going to an OB-GYN. Once I realized it, I shouldn't have gone through with the injection but I did out of convenience. Big mistake! I had to wait months for this awful filler to wear off. My friends back home had a good laugh at my "hillbilly face". The procedures this place uses are outdated and the injectors couldn't answer my most basic questions. I guess I'm lucky they didn't cause permanent damage (like some of the horror stories I've heard). I'm surprised there aren't more negative reviews. Then again, people might think it looks good! I've surprised a few by saying things like, "Oh, you get your injections done at Cosmetic Solutions?" Yes, I can tell. I can always tell who their patients are because it looks just awful!

Provided by YP.comI am so disappointed in their treatment of me, a once devoted patient. I had a Botox treatment previously and was estatic the way it worked. Loved it! I went back to have another treatment. They brought me in the room and proceeded to tell me there was a new company that is doing this treatment and it was cheaper. She stated that they practiced it on all the girls in the office and there was no difference from Botox. So why wouldn't I go with her suggestion. Botox worked two days after my treatment. This one did not. I waited for 5 days. I called them back and they said to wait up to two weeks. I did. Nothing. I called them back. They were going to have someone call me back. No one called me back. This went on another time. Finally I had to write them a scathing email which made Dr Abernathy call me. She proceded to tell me that she wanted to call other patients to see if the vial that was used on me was a bad vial. She told me no one had a problem with it. Then as she was talking she, I guess, goofed up and told me that some of the patients DID have a problem with it and they are going to discontinue this product! As she was going on and on, not once did she offer to give me a refund or have me come back in and give me the treatment I thought I was coming in and getting. I didn't even ask for a credit or a refund cause in my mind their reputation has tarnished and I will just go to their competitor. I can't believe Dr Abernathy called ME up to rant about a bad company and did not once offer to help me out. She couldn't of cared less to keep me as a customer.

Sheila at Cosmetic Solutions improperly injected me with dermal filler, causing skin necrosis (skin death). The result is permanent disfigurement and scarring. Sheila failed to recognize the signs of necrosis that presented immediately after injection. When I returned for help, Dr Abernathy didn’t know what to do and failed to diagnose or treat me. I was never told skin necrosis was a possibility, nor was it on the consent form. Upon reading my medical record, I found significant omissions regarding my symptoms and post-injection photos were conveniently lost. My record was instead filled with gossip and personal attacks. The receptionist even critiqued my makeup! Don’t make the mistake I did. I only wanted to look nice for my wedding and went to Cosmetic Solutions for what I thought was a safe procedure. My life is now ruined. Fillers have serious complications that Dr Abernathy won't know how to treat. If you feel you need these procedures, go to a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon.
