The Cedar Rapids Police Department provides law enforcement services, promotes public safety and protects the rights and property of residents in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The department is organized into two divisions. The field operations division is in charge of the patrol and traffic divisions, CR-COPPS program, the reserve program, records and special operations, the special response team, the tactical team, air support, bicycle patrol, the K-9 unit, investigations, general and youth crimes, the crime scene investigation unit, and narcotics and special assignment investigations. The field support division is responsible for general services, personnel and training, the police academy, records, information management, crime prevention, the detective bureau, the youth bureau and the identification bureau.
