Worst customer service anywhere

I worked in retail too many years to put up with rude and unhelpful staff. You are in business to serve your customers. Too bad you see them as a bother. If you don't like people, find a different job! Shop elsewhere. Anywhere else.

Poor telephone customer service

I called Donahue on 9/13 looking for some Thai Unryu Mulberry paper. The lady who answered the phone was very rude and said that she did not know what Unryu is. I explained that Unryu is a light weight mulberry paper. She said, "what I call Mulberry Paper is not necessarily what you would call mulberry paper." I explained that mulberry paper is made form the pulp of the mulberry tree and contains strands. The lady on the phone continued to be very rude and said that I need to come to the store in person to find what I was looking for. There is no way I would shop somewhere that has such poor customer service.

Don't Value their Customers Enough

No evites for me, I still use paper invitations. So, I was excited to find Donahue's, after so many stores like it have gone out of business. However, my experience at Donahue's has been highly disappointing. Customer service is very inconsistent. Some employees are very unpleasant (even bordering on nasty). They're also not always knowledgeable about their products. For example, I've been told that a product was laser printer compatible when in fact, it was not. They're not great about keeping their inventory stocked (just when I find something I like, they only have 1 box left on their shelves). Their return/exhange policy is horrible (no returns/exchanges after 30 days, & subject to 20% restocking fee). After spending hundreds of dollars there, I wanted to return/or exchange a $15 box of invitations (a little past 30 days) and was told I'd be charged a 25% restocking fee (they still carried the item). I'm keeping the invitations & my business. I won't shop there anymore. Too bad.

AWESOME!

This store is AMAZING! The people are great, they help in every way possible! The selection of paper is like that I haven't ever seen before! There are a ton of speciality papers, handmade papers and then just a huge selection of basic paper that anyone could use! They have a huge wedding invitation section too. Envelopes in every size and color! And, the most fun and unique gifts too! Just a great store!

What can I say? I'm a paper geek!

I love this place. I have to go here for work sometimes and I love to prowl up and down the aisles just looking at everything. Scrapbooking stuff, cool pens, tons of unique and gorgeous papers . . . a paper geek's paradise!
