Provided by SuperpagesA local secret for over 40 years. My son and I would go over on a Saturday and spend hours looking and talking about the specimens. They have minerals, gems, fossils and much more. They do charge admission of $4 adults and $2 students which is very reasonable. It is owned and operated by Roxy Ann Gem and Mineral Society volunteers. Open Tues - Sat. 10 am - 4 pm Check out their web page or better yet stop in and say "hi"

I toured the museum and shopped in the gift shop and was amazed at the beautiful gem and mineral collections as well as native american artifacts - a whole room - and all kinds of rocks including the Oregon state rocks, many fossils from Oregon, a large life-size dinosaur replica which the kids love. The gift shop has books, children's things, rocks, jewelry, something for everyone at a variety of prices. Grab bags with several polished stones for kids are $1. the rock club has a really nice rock shop with many tools including Genies, rock saws, and polishing wheels so members can make their own jewelry. There are classes available too.

A little town just north of Medford OR, will give you a super sized treat and many surprises. Rare and beautiful gemstones, minerals, and fossils of all sizes. And I mean big!!As well as a workshop where you can observe "rockhounds" grinding, polishing and carving their finds.Excellent gift shop too!I guarantee that you will be glad you went.
