Provided by YP.comThe dealer wanted $3000, Tony wanted $45. Full stop. Toyota printed out a list of things I needed, partly based on what my car would need at this age, not knowing anything about its history. Turns out I had already done some of those things. Toyota had the equivalent of a foot massage, but couldn't look me in the eye, because I think they knew they were sh@fting me, and couldn't bear to fake the kiss. I showed Tony the list of tasks Toyota suggested and he told his co-worker, "They want to charge xyz for that. Wow. That hurts. How can they do that?" "Maybe because they have a big screen TV in the waiting room and a free shuttle." "I'll drive you somewhere to wait, and I'll charge you an extra $100, too." He had a sense of humor and hummed a reference to Jethro Tull's Aqualung ;-) but if you don't hold being a real human being against him, and agree with everyone I've heard, that "Tony, he's the man," then you may save yourself having to buy a new car, like I did. He was generous in telling me what I could afford to let wait, and what was nonsense. I didn't give a rating on professionalism, because Toyota is professional, dust-mopping the smooth driveway, and Tony has dyed-in-the-wool grime on his hands (because he's an auto mechanic, folks! That's what I want!) Let's encourage small, profession-accomplished businesses like these by writing reviews.
