I came to Toyota knowing I would get a great car but wasn’t expecting to recieve the best service ever. I am a server and I know a thing or two about service and let me tell you, Power Toyota is on point. From the greeting to the test drives, the annoying questions I kept asking and all the headache of financing. They kept their cool the entire time and never once seemed to be bothered by all the hassle I put them through. I am definitely happy with my purchase.

VERY DISHONEST DEALER- CAUTION...

VERY DISHONEST DEALER- CAUTION!

Rating should be 0 stars but 1 star is the lowest score this site will allow

My husband and I purchased a new Sienna van (which we love) from this dealer and we experienced multiple, serious and dishonest problems with the dealer.

First off we turned in a full paid for vehicle as part of the deal and brought that car in the day before for it to be looked at and were given a written price for that car. !2 hours later when we came back to complete the transaction they said the trade-in would be $1000 less unless we could prove to them that the convertible top worked—it did work perfectly but it was never brought up the day before when the trade in was being evaluated. Secondly the check for the trade in never came to us. We called and called and called – never got a return call and when we did speak with people got excuse after excuse. We were told the check should arrive to us in about 2 weeks. Finally nearly a month went by and I went into the dealer and they looked for the check and found our $13500 check – dated 2 weeks pervious to the date I was there, “sitting on someone’s desk”. Next problem was they did not forwarding third party services paperwork for completion to LoJack so our tracking and warning system could not get installed. We paid for this but could not get it installed until the dealer sent the paperwork into LoJack—a month went by and nothing. Next problem was missing areas inside the car in applying the PermaPlate protestant. Problems continued as the service department told me it would be 1 ½ weeks before they could give me an appointment to complete some work and repairs on an open due bill for things that were part of the new car purchase that the dealer needed to fix—but had no time to on the day of the purchase of for over a month following that date.

So why does this dealer have such great ratings? Well the people we dealt with made a point of telling us (and providing written instructions too) that is was VERY IMPORTANT if we get a follow-up call or survey we give them all excellent ratings in every category, and anything less would be considered a failing score. So there are a lot of coached false consumer ratings for this dealership because the employees make a very strong and clear point to tell the customer—“rate everything as excellent”. They are so far from excellent in their dishonest business, service and financial practices. Be very careful and buy your car elsewhere!

Great Experience. I had a problem with my window motor in my new Toyota Camry, Chris was a great help, he had it fixed in no time at all. He knows what he is doing and does a great job with keeping you up to date with the service time. Dropped it off in the morning had it back when I was off work. I will return to the service department at Power Toyota Cerritos and going directly back to Chris with any questions or work that needs to be done.

It was Replaced

I work long hours quite a distance from home. With the recession and gas prices are the only thing rising. I have spent alot of money on parts for my previous vehicle. After one problem got fixed, something else would give out. It also was terrible on gas. I came to Power Toyota because it was close to home and it was recommended by a friend. I needed a reliable vehicle quick to replace my vehicle before something else would brake on it. I met Nick when I came in and he was so great. He understood my circumstances and filled me in about my options and also he knew so much about all the cars. I finally found one that, I had to have and Nick made that happen. Great customer service guys! Nick was so friendly and I would definately recommend this dealership to others.

Love my Whip

I came into Toyota simply because I needed a more fuel efficient car. My V8 truck isn’t doing it for me anymore. It cost me almost a $100.00 for a full tank and it only gets me about 400 mi. This just isn’t cutting it for me anymore. I have been looking around at a few different cars but the Camry Hybrid really caught my eye. My wife and I went to Power Toyota to look around (we had no intent to buy). Nick greeted us with a smile, he walked up and asked if there was anything he could do to help us find what we were looking for. I basically told him I like to stand out from the crowd. I don’t like the everyday looking car, but fuel is my concern right now. I did mention that the Camry Hybrid did catch my eye. When I said that his face light up. He said I have something to show you. We went to the back of the dealership and there is was, my future car. It was a 2011 Camry Hybrid. It was a dream come true. From the color, black on black, to the alloy rims, sunroof and navigation. It had every bell and whistle I could ask for. Ok so here comes the headache, the negotiations. First what were they going to give me for my truck and the final price I would have to pay for the Camry? Nick and one of his coworkers go outside to appraise my truck. I told my wife a number I wanted and they were only $500 off, I was getting happy. We talked numbers on the Camry and may I say it is very exciting being able to fill up for less then 40 bucks and it last me over 500mi. All my thanks goes out to Nick, if not for you I might still have a gas eating truck.

thank you

Helpful and friendly attitude. My circumstance was difficult and everyone bent over backwards to help. That’s a rare thing; they were exceptional even when I did not exactly know what the process was they made sure they figured it out. It was not your typical dealership experience. They were above and beyond what I expected. Thank you for your time and effort!

Great service

Louise Evans did a good job listening to our needs promptly providing helpful information to inform me with. With her help I was able to quickly come to a buying decision. I especially appreciate her honest, no nonsense way of communicating true facts and her helpfulness. Louise made the car buying experience easy and pleasant. I would definitely consider referring my friends and family to Cerritos Toyota because Louise was a great sales person and gave great service. Thank you Louise and Cerritos Toyota!

Unhappy Customers Tell Google

I was assisting in the purchase of a vehicle for my wife on December 31st. She heard of the $179.00 lease special available at Norm Reeves Honda. We test drove a vehicle and she was summarily approved for the lease of a 2011. Not wanting to seem hasty in our decision, I recommended we walk next door to Power Toyota to compare since were advertising a similar lease, and she currently owns and is very happy with the Camry. Kevin Naderi greeted me and showed me a Camry on the show room floor. I responded that my wife is ready to purchase, this is the car she wants, and she is planning on leaving with a vehicle today.

Since he is a Manager, we were assigned a Sales Rep who proceeded with the paperwork and test-drive process. Kevin approached her and suggested we get the credit rating documents from the dealer we had just been working with next door, as he was concerned it would not be “high enough” to qualify for the no-interest lease. We went next door, were only given a hand-written copy, and upon presenting it to Kevin, he hastily stated that her credit rating might not qualify her for the lease. That may or may not be true, as she easily qualified for the same no-interest lease next door, but what ensued was rather surprising.

Having been in sales most of my life, and she manages the customer service division of a large manufacturer; we were taken aback by Mr. Naderi’s antagonistic and extremely defensive attitude and remarks. In no way did our demeanor nor statements justify his responses. Our 14-year-old daughter was also present and was surprised by his remarks. At that point, we said not another word, as our only reasonable reaction to Kevin was to leave the dealership.

My wife will purchase a Camry with absolutely no intent to ever solicit Power again.

Happy customers tell three friends, unhappy customers tell Google. By the looks of your online rating responses, you need more happy customers. After reading most of the reviews, it is amazing how many complaints were so similar to our experience. We now realize we are fortunate to have gotten out of there as early in the process as we did.

Outstanding!!!

Excerpt from email I sent to Toyota Cerritos:

I want to express my sincere thanks! This is the second time I have had the pleasure of dealing with your service rep,Tony Pulido and each time I have been genuinely impressed with his passionate pursuit in satisfying the customer.Your business savvy in hiring people like Tony is an assurance that your integrity stays intact & your reputation will be back on track in no time. Each time I have dealt with Tony, his appearance is impeccable,he has a quiet demeanor with a patience for really listening to the customer. Most importantly I respect the fact that, like Toyota, he is not too proud to humble himself to right a wrong.Your company has brought my faith back in what business should be about(integrity & standing by your product-right or wrong). In this day & age when our society has made it so easy to throw in the towel and give up,you didn't and for what it's worth you have beyond a doubt earned my business & respect.

Power Toyota Ain't Right!

Power Toyota sold me a used car that had an engine modification that wasn't legal. I didn't realize that til I had to take the car for a smog test and was told by the person conducting the test. I couldn't understand how the dealership could pass the car through their smog testing facility with an illegal modification on it. I had to take the car back to the dealership (Power Toyota of Cerritos) and have them put the car back to factory stock (original parts). This only happened after they tried to make me think I was responsible for restoring the car back to stock because I bought the car in "AS IS CONDITION". When that didn't work they tried to get me to pay for half of the cost. I then had to threaten them with the Bureau of Automotive Repair before they would fix the car free of charge, but I wasn't reimbursed for the failed smog test and I still had to pay for a new smog test even though I was told the dealership is suppose to do this. I've also been told that I should still call the Bureau of Automotive Repair because how many more people are the doing this to. Be warned that any car that a dealership sells MUST be up to ALL LEGAL STANDARDS. If you buy a used car or any car from a dealership that is modified in any way they must produce the state stickers stating that the car has legal modifications. I will never buy anything from Power Toyota of Cerritos again. You would think that with all the recalls and problems they have now they would be up front and say ok we will fix this. Unbelievable!

ADVERTISING ISSUES

Do not go to this dealer on an ad as they do not live up to their printed ads. I believethat they use it as a way to get you in their door. When confronted with this they just blew me off. I have writted Toyota about this and did not get much help there either. Interestingthat after all of this I got a call from their customer relations dept. and still did not get an appoligy reguarding these issues. I would continue to purchase Toyota products, just not at this store or any of its sister stors.
