Manito is a learning organization for continuous improvement and innovation, and is located in Chambersburg, Pa. Its therapeutic education centers provide a nonresidential, community-based alternative for adolescents displaying behavior problems. Its Hope classroom is a self-contained classroom with both education and therapeutic programs, including core academic curriculum, therapeutic intervention, social skills and conflict resolution instruction, and re-entry into regular education after a specific time period. Its Alternative High School assists young adults to achieve academic skills and complete required academic credits towards a high school diploma. Its off-campus suspension programs include social skills curriculum and a brief consultation with counseling staff. Its special education treatment program reduces school anxiety and fears associated with attending a larger, public school facility.
