We actually went to Shively Motors to have a key made for my husband's Jeep. He bought it used and it only had one key, so we decided having a back-up was a good idea. Since it is a newer model, it has the type of key with a chip, which we knew would cost more money.When we arrived at the Parts counter, there were several guys there. We told them we wanted a second key, and they checked their computer to ensure they could do it, then quoted us almost $300. We were expecting expensive, but that was outrageous. I told the guys we didn't want the key with a remote, just a key with a chip that would open the door and run the vehicle. The service guy (who's name I cannot recall) told us there is no such thing, that a plain key (without remote) will indeed open the door, but will NOT run the vehicle. I found this odd, and asked him why, and he told us that's just not how it works, it's part of newer vehicle computer designs. The other guys just sat there and stared at us, going along with the bogus story we were being fed. I felt that they were tying to take advantage of us, figuring since we were a younger couple, we were completely naive and would just go with whatever they said and pay whatever they wanted. Wrong. We knew better, and left.Later on we found a locksmith who also programs car keys who got us a chipped key for the Jeep, which opened the doors and ran the vehicle (we drove home using that new key) for $70.I will NEVER purchase a vehicle from Shively Motors, will never go to them for service, and will discourage others from doing business with them. That day's experience showed me just how dishonest and shady they are, and would never be able to trust anyone on their staff. Save your hard-earned money and go elsewhere if you need a vehicle, parts, or service. I know we will.

My husband and I went into Shively to test drive a few new Dodge pick ups. There was almost no fuel in the truck. The sales person told us exactly where we were to drive it, where to turn and how fast to go! Are you kidding me? The sales manager offered that we could take the truck home for the day. We declined. Later, my husband decided this was a truck he was actually interested in. The people there told him they needed some information. They took it and made him wait . The sales manager then came out and told him he could not have it because he had no credit, not bad credit, no credit. He then would then have to have a cosigner before he could take it for the day. (They honestly did not know how we planned to pay for it and never asked) We will not be going back. I have NEVER heard a good thing about Shively in the ten years I have been living here and now I know why. If you want to be treated like a peasant and judged go here.

I know a couple that bought a car from this dealership and i feel shivelys was milking them!the couple has a warranty and the dealership keep putting parts on their car.and they even put new heads on it and a converter and all from the warranty.they had the couples car for 2 wks.after shivelys blew smoke they found they claimed it was a computer problem. They used this couples car to make money off the warranty!
