I saw three counselors from high school through college, but it was not until after college when I found Nancy that I felt my counseling sessions were truly effective. After a few months, I could tell her input and advice was making a difference in my life. Nancy has helped me to drastically decrease my needless anxiety and set healthy boundaries in various areas of my life. She helped me realize that a lot of my anxiety stemmed from feeling guilty about almost everything. By recognizing that I often have false guilt, Nancy has shown me that I can take a hold of my anxiety and not allow it to dominate me. This has brought me a great amount of peace and contentment in my life that I had been lacking before.

Nancy became someone I trusted entirely. As a result, when my marriage was on the verge of a divorce, I did not hesitate to seek her advice. She helped save my marriage. Her ability to help each of us see the flaws and goodness in ourselves, and in each other, made it possible for us to learn how to work through our marriage. Our marriage is now stronger than we could have imagined, thanks to her.

I talk about what I have learned from her all the time with my friends, co-workers, and family. Furthermore, Nancy is dedicated to her faith. This is another major reason why I enjoy having Nancy as a counselor. She allows me to see my struggles through God’s perspective and helps me to see how my mental wellbeing is something God values. I am amazed by how Nancy’s counseling has allowed me to be healthier overall in my life, and I am grateful for everything she has done for me.

I saw Nancy as a 10-year-old child and then again as a teenager. When I became an adult, I remembered how much I liked her, so I decided to see her, which says a lot about the impact she has had on my life. I have even taken my own child to see her because I knew Nancy could help her just as she helped me when I was young.

Nancy has helped me transition through various parenting issues and job difficulties, and she helped me uncover the fact that I have struggled with Attention Deficit Disorder. I also love the relaxing and comfortable home atmosphere. My daughter would have been much more uncomfortable if she had come to a sterile office environment; it would have put her on her guard.

I have referred many of my friends to Nancy. She is amazing and really good at what she does.

Nancy was a great help to me in unburdening a lot of emotional baggage during counseling sessions. I was having problems in my marriage, doing a lot of worrying to the point of exhausted depression, and basically trying to solve a lot of things on my own; with not much success. Through Nancy’s expert and wise counsel, she helped me see things that were a part of my personality that I needed to try to change. I always felt safe and in good hands knowing that she wasn’t going to push me in weird directions of change. I came to value her insight, because it was evident that she listened well to things I had shared, and found her analysis very useful in looking at my own patterns and habits. I also found her advice very solid and when I did the things she asked me to try, I was rather amazed at how they changed my perspective to a healthier one.

As a Christian woman, I really appreciated talking to another Christian woman that I knew had some vintage life experience, about problems and deep hurts that I did not want to dump on my friends or family. Nancy is funny, caring, and tactful with her honest evaluations, and I found myself mulling over things she would tell me to consider—at odd times, between sessions. I attribute much of that to the work of the Holy Spirit. The sessions I had with Nancy were ended in prayer. That act of asking God’s blessing on whatever had been discussed was central to whatever healing might come. And, in many ways healing did come. Nancy was very instrumental in bringing that about, and I am confident that she agrees with me to give God all the glory!

Nancy runs a well organized and polished business out of her home on Church street and so offers a very professional service in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. I went to see Nancy for court mandated Anger Management/ Control classes and her course was top notch. She will deal with you fairly and on a personal level based on how much effort you put into the course. Nancy is a very warm, friendly and energetic woman who genuinely cares. I highly recommend her!

I would not be where I am today without the help of Nancy Peterson, for I am a stronger person. I have a voice, and Nancy helps me to look through the pain to see how to deal with it. I learned not to bottle up my pain, and now I tell people to come see Nancy. I always recommend her.

Nancy was a tremendous instrument in helping my son overcome separation anxiety and my daughters OCD. They felt very comfortable with her and we made great progress in such a short amount of time. Now if anything arises we know exactly where to go. Thanks Nancy!

Nancy really helped my husband and I hear each other during our sessions. We have joked that it would be great to have her move in with us so she could help us with every conversation. She has helped us deal with our conflict, and we highly recommend her.

Nancy is a wonderful counselor. She has a talent for making you see your difficulties from new and useful perspectives, and she knows how to help you discover your own means for recovery/improvement. This is a rare gift. Furthermore, she never interrupts you (even if you interrupt her), and she never makes you feel like she's counting the minutes until your session is over. She also thankfully avoids excessive theorizing and instead fits tools to particular problems instead of the other way around. It should be true that all counselors are kind, sensitive, and effective, but it is not. Thankfully, Nancy very much fits all of these descriptions. Highly recommended.

Nancy has done a wonderful job of helping me. I look forward to talking to her, and the great peace I feel when I leave. She was definitely the right choice for me!

Without Nancy's help, our marriage of 21 years was headed downhill fast. She was able to help us find and understand the real issues behind the problems we were having and we are learning how to overcome those issues now. Things are going so well that we fully believe our marriage will be better than it's ever been. Nancy has been especially helpful during "crisis" situations that our marriage has had to overcome and has even prayed with us over the phone at a time when it was desperately needed. She also will close the session with a prayer, if you so desire, and these prayers have always left us feeling better when we leave, no matter how hard the session was! We highly recommend Nancy to any marriage in need of a little (or lot!) of help.

Nancy has been tremendously helpful to my husband and me. It was the anniversary gift we gave ourselves after 11 years of marriage. We often found we were still dealing with some issues we had when we got married. She was able guide us toward solutions and see each other for who we are and not wrong or right. She has taught us how to communicate with one another again. I appreciated that Nancy closed each session with a short prayer that re-focused us on our own relationships with God.

Nancy has been so helpful and reassuring since she started seeing our daughter 5 months ago. What I love the most is that prior to my daughter's sessions, she takes time to speak with me about events that have taken place from one week to the next. She takes notes and follows up on any concerns that I bring up. My daughter is very comfortable with Nancy and looks forward to their sessions. Throughout the course of the week she can refer back to the skills and discussions she has had with Nancy to help her make decisions or process how she's feeling. Nancy also goes above and beyond the call of duty. We had an untimely death in the family and we were unable to go to our scheduled session. In order to accommodate us, Nancy conducted the session over the phone. As a Minister/Family Advocate I frequently refer women and families I serve to Nancy for counseling. Everyone who I have referred has been pleased with the services they have received as well.
