St. John's Catholic Chapel offers a variety of spiritual and religious services. It promotes ministries and programs that enable to explore spiritual path through prayer, fellowship and social justice. The chapel conducts weekly volunteer activities and presentations, as well as organizes alternative break trips. St. John's Catholic Chapel maintains a student liturgical ministry that provides training in the areas of sacristans, lectors, ushers and altar servers. It is a part of St. John's Catholic Newman Center, which is located in the University of Illinois and was constructed in 1927. St. John's Catholic Newman Center is a national model of college ministry that reflects a Catholic identity by reaching the campus.
