I can honestly say that the Conservatory is a joke, and if you want music lessons, go to the Champaign School of Music, CV Lloyds, or Samuel Music, they'll be happy to help you out.



It would be nice to be able to have some good things to say about this place, but neither their rates nor their management allows me to. When I first happened upon the Conservatory, I was thrilled because I wanted to purchase some guitar and voice lessons for my sister and boyfriend as a gift since they work close by and could walk there.



When I went inside, the place was run-down and disorganized looking, but that didn't bother me too much at first because I figured their rates would be reasonable and hopefully their service good, I spoke with the lady that runs the front desk, and wrote a check for the amount of lessons that I wanted to buy. The lady told me that the instructor would call my sister and boyfriend to schedule a time for their lessons. Several weeks went by, and no call, so I contacted the Conservatory again and left a message. Several weeks went by again, and still no call. My sister and boyfriend ended up going elsewhere for lessons, which is good because they never received a call, lol.



After a few years went by, I decided to give the place another try and wished to sign up for voice lessons. I had been taking lessons at the Champaign School of Music in the meantime (which is awesome, btw, very professional), but thought I'd cancel there so that I could set up lessons closer to where I worked in order to walk there over lunch. It has been over a month now, and no instructor has contacted me. I have talked to the woman at the front desk numerous times and she keeps telling me that the teacher will eventually call. At this point, after seeing how disorganized they still are it's not worth wasting time here anymore. It is amazing that this place is still in business, considering that their prices are on a par with the Champaign School of Music!
