I made the appointment thinking I needed a filling which turned into an extraction. One of the services the dentist insisted needed to be performed was not covered by my insurance. I paid what they said was due. When I recieved the statement a few weeks later, the charge was almost $100 more than what they quoted in the office. The woman in the front office clearly does not understand insurance and it appears didn't call to verify coverage. Upon receiving the statement, I called my insurance company and found out what I should have paid. I called the billing office and since they hadn't received payment, they wouldn't discuss my account. It is now almost four months later. I have not received an updated statement much less a refund. Maybe they should file the claim for patients that have insurance and then bill them for the balance. I do not have the funds to pay for services NOT rendered and then have to fight for the refund.
