Do Not Use Stafford & Westervelt as a CPA. My Husband and I had my taxes done by Cecil Prier at the Charter in Chanute. The first problem was they kept my taxes for 3 1/2 weeks. When I asked about their billing, I got redirected in the conversation every time. Then after calling several times they give me a bill for $400.00 and an additional $250.00 for husband, who only was filing 1040 EZ form. I have a small business and the national average for filing similar tax forms is $250.00 and $150.00 for a 1040 EZ. Per Mr. Priers request he offered to let me take all of my receipts and put them on a spread sheet for him and informed me it would save me money. As I looked at the bill, I had a credit of $175.00, so if I had not done all the meticulous work my bill would have been $575.00 for just me. When asked for an itemized bill the reply was "We don't do that". Even Lawyers can provide an itemized bill. We have several family members who own their businesses and their CPA's only charge them $150.00. I even took the liberty to call around to CPA’s in Tulsa and was quoted 85.00 to $125.00 long form. I will never use this business again and if you want to not over pay for tax services you will not either.
