Graduate studies at Virginia Tech. Awarded Master of Architecture Degree in December 1980. Over 20 years of practical professional experience, involving 16 years as an intern, Project Architect, Project Manager or Principal in the offices of registered Architects, and over 4 additional years as head designer and project co-ordinator in Residential Development and Speculative Housing. In addition, 8 years of actual experience in the construction trades as a carpenter and contractor. Since 1985 operated a part-time proprietorship, Design Resources, offering design and contract architectural services. This business evolved into a full-time sole proprietorship, in operation from 1989 through 1992, and was re-established as Arkatec/Kim Anderson AIA in 1996. Active member, Durham-Chapel Hill Section, the North Carolina Chapter, and the National American Institute of Architects.
