I started my freshman year at NC State majoring in biology with plans to continue to optometry school following graduation. I took an introductory human nutrition class during the fall semester of my sophomore year. By the end of the year, I had changed my major to nutrition. After my first nutrition course, I knew that being a dietitian was the way I was going to make a difference once I entered the “real world". My hope is that I can help my patients see opportunities for change in their normal, day-to-day routine. Identifying the small, gradual, lifestyle changes is super important for the success of all patients. Most weekends are spent with my husband and our English bulldog at the lake, beach or in the mountains — we’re always on the go. I am a State grad, and my husband grew up pulling for the Tarheels, but our house divided agrees on days that the Panthers play football.
