A Fun Night Out

I went to R&R on a Thursday night. I live in DC and was visiting a friend so it was my first time out in Chapel Hill ever. I don't know about the rest of the town, but this place left a great impression. There was no cover, and they had a dj who played great music. I had trouble pulling myself off the dance floor to buy drinks. The prices were more than reasonable, well drinks were only 3 dollars. The crowd was a bit of a fratty college scene, but we had no trouble finding lots of really nice, fun people there to hang out with. I would definitely recommend this place if you like to dance, but it's also good for those who like to chill, theres a huge patio where you can sit and enjoy the night if you don't mind the loud music. Overall I had a lot of fun.

A Great Find

This was our first time at R&R, and it was great. It was a little hard for us to find, but as soon as we stepped in the front door the search was made worth it. There is an extensive dining area inside, and an equal amount of seating on the outdoor patio. Plus, full bars both inside and out. We sat in the indoor dining area which was filled with unique local art. We had excellent service. The waitress stopped by regularly to check on us. We started off with the firecracker shrimp appetizer. Yum!!! It came with a sweet jalapeno sauce that I didn't expect at all, but paired perfectly with the shrimp. It came almost immediately. For my meal I had the seafood alfredo. My server must have brought it out right after it came off the grill - it was so hot, I had to let it cool a bit. My daughter had the clam chowder to start, which she said was the best clam chowder she had tasted outside of the northeast. For dinner she had the filet medalions - the meat was cooked perfectly and the mashed potatoes were addicting. We finished off with the chocolate bread pudding - enough for two to share and absolutely delicious. Overall, we had a great time and an excellent meal. We will be going back soon.
