The North Carolina Spine Center is an interdisciplinary medical practice group that provides medical care and treatment services to individuals with spine disorders. It emphasizes on the prevention, treatment, early detection and education rehabilitation of pediatric and adult patients with spine related pathologies. The center treats spine tumors, osteoporosis, acute and chronic spine fractures, muscle and ligament injuries, and herniated nucleus pulposus, spinal stenosis, degenerative disc, spondylolisthesis and scoliosis conditions. The North Carolina Spine Center also offers a full-service orthopedic physical therapy program. Its physical therapy department provides general orthopedic and spine therapies, as well as emphasizes on patient education and self treatment through specifically designed home exercise regimens. Additionally, the center maintains an ell-equipped gymnasium for nonoperative and post-operative patients. The North Carolina Spine Center features a bone densitometry unit for osteoporosis screening and other diagnostic services. It is located in Chapel Hill, N.C., and is affiliated with the North American Spine Society and the Scoliosis Research Society.
