Provided by YPmobileI visited the restaurant on 9/3/2012 for dinner for 2 and seen the worst and rude behavior. They asked us if we had any groupon and said an 18% gratuity would be charged if we use one. The lamb biryani was just like a lamb curry and after trying hard we were just half done and called for a check without groupon, they charged 18% even then. We asked him the reason and he started loud and rude when we denied him tip for being rude and worst, he became violent and shouted not to come again. It was wierd and strange to have such a worst experience!!! So guys watch out !!!

Provided by SuperpagesI am Indian, I am Basically from Mumbai ,india and I regularly have Indian food outside. I've been to other Indian restaurants in the area and had a decent experience ,I wanted the best Indian food for my wedding because my Wife's parents are from India and we picked in this Indian Restaurant in down town because we have tried many Indian restaurants and we found this restaurant to be the best amongst the lot. The on site tandoor with exceptional decoration. When we went to the restaurant to settle the bill we were asked to share our experience with others and I thought of writting on the net. I can not thank anymore when I told the owners to give special attantion because I want my mother in law to be impressed and she was really impressed and I am glad we picked this indian restaurant to cater the wedding. The customer service was great and Offcourse India is Great Than That of Other Countries.I am very proud to be an Indian.REGARDS - Ashish Pandey ( Mumbai, India )

Provided by YP.comWhile I'm not from India, I love indian food (and most southeast asian foods). I seek out Indian restaurants wherever I travel. So I have a reasonable basis of comparison.
I'd rate Tandoor as "pretty good". The restaurant environment is ok, the staff is great, and the food varies from good to very good depending on the dish. Their creamy dishes are the best in my opinion. They do a good Saag, and decent curries. The buffet is a pretty good deal, though the food quality does vary from dish to dish and night to night. But so far, it's the best of the Indian restaurants I've found in Chapel Hill, only bested by one or two other places around the triangle.
