Be sure the owner/ manager is there when you go. It makes a difference in the service as well as the quality of food. We usually visit there once a week, sometimes twice a week. When we go on a night when Cleatus is there, the food and service are excellent. However, when he isn't on duty, as an example, we waited 20 minutes to get our side salads and wings were cold and not prepared as requested.

Vella's has very good crab legs. My only wish is that they would offer a side with them like little ears of corn on the cob or red skinned potatoes. We are anxious to visit with them again.

Tuesday night is 30 cent wing night, and they are great, The best Wings in the Chapin area since Big Bird's closed.
