I have had nothing but problems with Carelot Childrens Center. My kids go to the thompson, ct location and it is the complete same for all the locations I'm realizing after reading other reviews. They combine classes, teachers are always taking kids from other classes to run "errands" put the older kids on the busses, if theres too many babies in the infant they take them to the older classes and such, etc. VERY DISORGANIZED.
They also do the bare minimum with teaching. My 4 year old is barely taught handwriting or anything important. There "handwriting session" is drop off in the morning trace your name on a yellow lined piece of note pad paper written in half! It's so pathetic how cheap they are.
AND YOU WILL DEFENITLY want to know this... I signed up for full day care 7-5:30 because they were ALWAYS complaining if I was 15-20 minutes off schedule (doesn't matter about traffic, the fact that I'm a single parent, my schedule varies between school and work) they then told me that there DAILY RATE of $60 only covers 9.5 hours and that for the 10.5 hour day it would be an extra $7 per day per child!!! OUTRAGEOUS.
On top of ripping parents off, they do make you put 2 weeks down. Obviously they have issues with keeping kids enrolled. They also make you do EFT payments, no other options. If you choose to do that with a credit card, theres a fee. But you also have to have a checking and credit card linked to your account so they have the ability to freely charge whatever they want. They screwed up my account and withdrew $166 extra for four weeks before I logged into my bank account to notice, also note they do not provide statements for you to trace unless specifically asked.
I can't suggest enough that you do not bring your child to this very poor excuse for a daycare. They are more concerned with becoming some big corporate takeover business in CT rather than caring for children, all they care about is money. They need to be shut down.

DIRECTOR HAS NO CLUE! This place never sat well with me and it was excuse after excuse. The sidewalks and parking area are not cleared in the winter. The lights wouldn't be on outside at pick up when ito dark (I turned them on so I could see on my way out!). Numerous times I received other children's containers, clothing (sometimes soiled), personal information. My son fell down a flight of stairs and all they could say was sorry! I seen 5 different directors come and go. They had hired someone with a record (another mother explained it was her cousin so she was aware). Other caregivers have their own children there and completely neglected your child to be with their own. Field trips were so unorganized it was a joke. I was told to pay a specific amount and then I was told they attached the wrong paperwork to my account and I owed 50 more a week, ok fine, BUT then hit me with late fees for the other weeks cause they said it wasn't paid in full....ummm am I missing something.
