Odayaka Martial Arts teaches Shorei ryu, a traditional Okinawan martial art. The dojo does not emphasize sport tournaments, just practical, real world karate for real people. Material taught there is practical and effective for youth or adult, male or female, as self-defense, a way to become physically fit and a path toward improve mental focus at work or school. The dojo is very family friendly and tuition is affordable. They even have a family rate which is probably the best value I've seen around. Odayaka has been in Chardon for over 18 years, is locally owned and operated and isn't a commercial franchise. One of the really great things about this place is that they do not require contracts so the students who attend class really WANT to be there. Students work at their own speed, receive a lot of individual attention and test individually when they are ready. The students that come out of this school really know something about self-defense and awareness.
